The New Darling of Bone Building

Bonnie and Steve: We have always espoused the three amigos of bone building as calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D. You cannot have one without the others. They all work in concert.

Unfortunately, for many years, it was only calcium that received the accolades. This was a mistake.

Then, it was calcium and vitamin D getting all the pub. While the results were much better when taken as a duo, it is still not ideal.

Magnesium was the invisible amigo. Even the flood of magnesium research that has spurred its meteoric popularity has not addressed its role for bone health very well. Until now.

To our delight, a study in the April issue of European Journal of Epidemiology has found that magnesium is essential for preventing bone fracture in middle-age and elderly persons. What's most exciting is that researchers followed the subjects for 20 years.

Researchers followed 2,245 middle-aged subjects and found that those with lower blood levels of magnesium had an increased risk of fractures, particularly fractures of the hip.

The risk of having a fracture was reduced by 44 percent in those with higher blood levels of magnesium. None of the subjects who had optimal magnesium levels experienced a fracture during the 20-year follow-up period.

Because of the dearth of magnesium in our daily diet, the researchers suggested that supplementation is crucial for magnesium deficiency. Where have you heard that recommended before?

Yet another example of magnesium's magnificence!
Genetic Wellness Testing & Analysis

Bonnie and Steve:It only takes a few simple steps to get individualized genetic nutritional support. Test your genome. We translate the results in a way you can understand. We target your individualized needs with nutritional support that can be easily implemented.

Pure Genomics helps the patient with:
  1. Reaffirmation for why existing patients should continue to adhere to their optimal diet and lifestyle. Genes are the deepest layer of individualization. When a patient is doing incredibly well despite horrible genetic deficiencies, it is a strong deterrent to fall off the wagon.
  2. Creates the last thrust of motivation for a patient who is having trouble adhering to their diet and lifestyle protocol.
  3. Provides incredible proof for prevention of family disease history. Connects the dots for many of our patients.
  4. Is a strong component for new patient screenings, especially for methylation, detoxification, antioxidant defense, weight management, metabolic health, and essential fatty acid, vitamin A, and vitamin D absorption.

What should you do now?

Current Pure Genomics Users
Wait for our announcement that the Weight Management and Metabolic Health panel has been uploaded and updated in our Pure Genomics database. Then, you can request by email that we send your updated results.

No, you do not have to send us your 23andMe data again. In fact, you never have to! Once it is in our database, it stays there. And one thing about your genetic does not change. The only thing that changes is how your diet and lifestyle choices affect the expression of your genes.

Not a Pure Genomics User?
If you have never used Pure Genomics before, please refer to this document which will answer all your questions about how to provide us with your genetic data and get started.
